The second (and last) record from my dad's collection is Wishbone Ash's Argus. The story goes something like this: When I was on 5th grade, the band Teräsbetoni was the shit. Due to the whole warrior theme, my dad essentially said that we have Teräsbetoni at home (alluding to this record). Well, this isn't heavy metal, but the aesthetics stem from the same melancholy this whole listing will draw from. On top of that, just about every twin lead guitar metal band owes its existence to Wishbone Ash (more often than not via Iron Maiden). To keep it short: excellent songs, guitar, guitar, and did I mention guitar. You get guitar harmonies, single guitar solos, call-and-answer guitar solos, guitar interludes, guitar intros, and guitar outros. The best song on the record is "Warrior".
My take on Wishbone Ash: I'm not familiar with the creative output of Wishbone Ash as a whole. Every time I've tried to get into their other records, I've been disappointed because one simply cannot surpass this record. Fun fact: Wishbone Ash is still going, and there have been not one but two Finns in the band over the years.
