It had been far too long since I last had a maintenance on my guitar, so I decided it was time to take it apart for some much-needed cleaning. Here's the guitar in its disassembled state. See how there are lines on top of the frets where the strings go? That's just filth, the frets are in decent condition, no divots!
Here's the reassembled guitar after cleaning and with fresh strings.
The guitar is a 1990 Fender Stratocaster Plus in Arctic White. I got it as a Christmas present from my dad when I was 11. My dad had gone to the local music store and asked for a recommendation for a child's first electric guitar – and subsequently bought this one used based on the recommendations. Good on them for recommending a real instrument!
The bridge humbucker (Seymour Duncan TB-4 Trembucker) and the pickguard are not original but my later additions. Fret not, no destructive routing was done to the guitar – all Strat Pluses have a "swimming pool" routing, and I still have the original pickguard and bridge pickup. The strings are a set of D'Addario NYXL 13–56 Electric Wound Thirds. I mainly play in drop C (CGCFAD).
